By Read this book over the summer in 2016. Length of the book was sufficient for me. 152 pages with some pictures. I did have issues with the composition of the book itself. The pages were stiff, meaning that they would close if I didn’t hold down each and every individual page. Sometimes I like to place a pen in the wedge of my book and read; not possible with this book as it would still manage to close
Content was great. In a time where being black is a topic of discussion across the nation, this book came in handy. The “twice as good” principle stood out to me. Ta-Nehisi mentioned his parents saying he had to be twice as good to be on par with his white peers and he didn’t want to pass that notion down to his son. I also loved the book for the nostalgia it gave me of growing up in Baltimore. I’m a county boy lol, but I had a few city moments that are etched in my memory. This book also made me wish I went to a HBCU.
Don’t want to give too much away about the book, but I say it’s a great read not only for black men, but men in general. Go cop that!
Long Live Tobe 
One of my goals for 2018 was to read more. So far I have accomplished my goal by reading four books so far. Between The World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates happens to be one of the books I read. I loved every aspect of Between The World and Me from beginning to end. The fluidity of how he describes life as black man growing up in Baltimore, going to a HBCU, finding love, and raising a black son was greatly written. This book is great for black men, women raising black men, and women dating a black.
